STRENGTHS:. Shay has the power to travel between the living world and the next. This helps her travel farther, quicker and in a way it always feels like a dream. When in the Spectral Plain which she calls the InBetween she is able to jump farther than usual, she can glide, she can walk through walls, and she can eavesdrop on whoever she wants without being seen, or heard. With this she also becomes much more powerful in manipulating the dead and ghosts in the said plain of existence. Speaking with spirits and ghosts is much easier here than in the living world. Only because of how much energy the ghosts need for reaching out to her.

When not in the Spectral Plain, her powers are a bit weaker she can't do as much as she can there or at least her attacks aren't as strong as they could be. Though she can make them stronger if she so desired. Shay can create, shape and manipulate the essence of Death, which is present in all mortals throughout the universe and is the opposite power of Life-Force Manipulation; whereas Life-Force is the essence which allows life to flourish. Death-Force is that which causes things to wither, rot, weaken, and eventually die. Shay can sense and manipulate the essence that allows Death, Destruction, and Decay to exist throughout the universe, allowing her to control decayed matter or to request assistance from the dead. This also means she can see and speak to the spirits in the living realm as well. Though not all of them are appreciative of this. Shay can also create, shape and manipulate her own or others' spiritual power, which is generated by every sentient being that possesses a soul, or in places with powerful spiritual influence. She can convert it into various forms of energy, manifest it into solid form, or merge it into existing objects.

Shay when in the spectral realm or near weak points can create, shape and manipulate Nether, the "Chthonian Element" that flows through the realms of the living, and the Dead. Nether is most known as the substance that makes up the Underworld, a subterranean dimension where all souls go when they pass on. Nether is very similar to Aether “the Celestial Element” in that it is from a Plane that exists between the planes of both matter, and energy.
Like Aether, Nether is a Spiritual Element, which means it cannot be perceived by any physical sense. The only way Nether can be physically seen is if it were mixed with an element of the Physical Realm, with Darkness, Fire, or Earth being the most common choices.

WEAKNESS: To get to the Spectral Plain, Shay has to in some capacity actually die or be as close to the brink of death as possible. That, or she must find where the veil between plains of existence is weakest and pass through. When this happens it is only her spirit that passes through. Her body is left behind. If Shay were to stay in the Spectral Plain for too long her body would start to shut down like she was actually dead. The worst part is she would be able to feel this happen even in her spectral form. It's a warning sign that if she doesn't get back soon enough she won't be coming back to the living realm. Because of that she doesn't do it very often. Another problem that comes of her body being vacant it leaves her to possessions by malevolent spirits or even worse Demons. Now, there really is no harsh downside to speaking with spirits other than the benders she'll go on when she sees the victim of a murder or get encrypted visions from someone close to the edge. These give her major migraines that she usually frowns with some jack Daniels and a night on the town. A lot of this takes a toll on her mental state as well. It's why she's been overcompensating recently with more partying.

It only helped when she took care of her body and worked out on both her Daddy's ranch and in the gym. Normally you'll find her wearing her plaid shirts tied up and some tight jeans with boots, when she goes out for fun it's something slinky and sexy. And at the dorm studying she's normally just in her pajamas. She's always one for looking good every minute of the day.

OVERALL. Shay is a country girl through and through. She has never been afraid of hard work because of her upbringing. Since she was little Shay has always been the center of attention. She's always been a daddy's girl ever since she was born. They'd rough house and she'd help him take care of the animals on the ranch. For years she's been friends with just about everyone that she could be. Stranger was never a word to her. It was always potential friend. This is where the love of her life comes in.

Jace Williams. Mister macho with a side of sex appeal and country golden boy. They'd been friends for years and finally in high school the two had taken things to the next level. They became high school sweethearts and everyone thought they had a future bright as stars. Sadly after graduation what Shay had thought would possibly be a proposal turned into her worst nightmare. Jace broke her heart running for his dream and left her behind. For weeks she had been humiliated and trying to pick up the pieces, finding out she was pregnant. She coasted through general college courses until her father was diagnosed with cancer. He lived for a whole year and at the funeral is when her powers awakened. She began to see spirits of people who had passed but never moved on. This combined with putting her child up for adoption was all so much.

To get away from the memories and the hurt she decided on a whole new scene. Moving to Detroit she made a friend in Megan as she finally chose on what she wanted her life to revolve around. though most nights she'd out partying drinking and trying to dull the noise of ghosts that find her. Sadly there have been a few nights where she had tried to be done with life, though she swore she'd never do that again.
